A IS FOR ADOLF DASSLER - HUSTLE BABY HUSTLE
One of the most iconic brands in history, Adidas was started by German shoe maker (also known as a cobbler), inventor and entrepreneur Adolf Dassler.
Known for designing some sweet kicks, Adolf was one of the first ever people to get endorsements from athletes to help sell his shoes - that’s right people, he basically created influencers! His first endorsement of Jesse Owen’s at the 1936 Munich games as well as his foresight to associate his brand with urban fashion by endorsing RUN DMC really paved the way for how brands collaborate today.
Fun fact, his brother Rudolf Dassler, founder of Puma (another shoe brand), started the company after him and Adolf fell out about their joint venture, Adi #boyswillbeboys
Today, Adidas has over 57,000 employees worldwide and over 460 stores globally and deals with some of the biggest names in sport such as Hima Das, David Beckham and Paula Creamer (LPGA)
